I was having problems with my Surface Pro powering up two monitors. Sometimes a laptop doesn't have a strong enough graphics card to power up both screens. And once you get used to using two monitors, it's hard to go back to a single screen. Once I purchased this, there was never a problem with using multiple monitors with my laptop. It goes with me on every storm.
